How do I get a copy of IML ViewPoint?

Using IML

I have installed IML ViewPoint software, but when I log onto the PC as a local user I cannot see the IML ViewPoint user interface in the PowerPoint 'ribbon.'

To view the IML ViewPoint user interface after logging on as a different user you should double click the IML ViewPoint icon that is installed on the desktop.

Is there a software manual?

Yes, this comes installed with the software. To access simply click on the 'Help' button on the IML ViewPoint ribbon.

How can I view a 'quick start guide?'

This can be accessed as a PowerPoint presentation through the Help button on the IML ViewPoint 'ribbon' after installation. You can view the tutorials within the F1 help guide.

How do I convert a PowerPoint slide to a IML ViewPoint question?

To change a normal PowerPoint slide to an interactive question click on the IML ViewPoint ribbon and then click the button 'Convert Text To Question'.

How do I play a sound when the vote is open?

Sounds can be played both whilst a vote is open and also to alert when a vote is closed. To assign a sound clip to a specific question click the 'Vote Effects' button on the IML ViewPoint user interface and tick the box to 'Play sound during vote', a sound file can then be selected from a location on the PC.

How can I preview how my interactive question slide might appear if it contained voting results?

This can be done either by clicking on the 'Create Sample Results' button in the IML ViewPoint Ribbon, or by running the presentation in slide show mode without a USB receiver inserted.

I wish to hide the voting results from the audience, is this possible?

Yes, to prevent the results of a vote being shown during a question click on the 'Display Options' button on the IML ViewPoint user interface and deselect the Option 'Show results in slide show'.

How do I purchase and install an IML ViewPoint Premium License file?

IML ViewPoint Premium is free to evaluate and distribute however if you wish to use the software with IML Click handsets you will need to purchase a license file from IML. You can request a license by contacting your nearest IML office. To associate a valid license file with an IML USB receiver follow the simple instructions in the Help guide of the IML ViewPoint Premium 'ribbon'.

Can I use my IML ViewPoint Premium license file on multiple computers?

Yes, the license file may be loaded to multiple PCs for use with the appropriate USB receiver. If you possess more than 1 USB receiver then multiple license files may be loaded onto the same PC.

I wish to share my voting results with others, is this possible?

All IML ViewPoint voting results are saved within the PowerPoint file itself. Sending the saved .pptx results file to others after a meeting will enable them to view the results. If those receiving the file have a copy of IML ViewPoint software they can also generate the Excel reports.

Hardware

What radio protocol does the IML Click system use?

The IML Click system works in the 2.4 GHz spectrum and employs frequency hopping spread spectrum technology that enable the system to co-exist with other devices within this frequency range.

What is the range of the IML Click system?

The system is designed to work in an indoor area of 300 x 300 feet. The geometry of a room and existence of other wi-fi systems could have an effect on this range. Ensuring the USB receiver is not covered will also help the signal range.

What is the battery life of the IML Click handsets?

The IML Clicks are each powered by one replaceable lithium coin cell battery (included). Battery life is approximately 20,000 responses or battery shelf life, whichever comes first.

Can I enter a multi-digit response on an IML Click?

Yes to enter a multi-digit response press the number required and then press the 'Send' button to submit the answer.

How does the IML Click tell a user their response has been received by the system?

The LED lights green when a key has been pressed and then turn off to confirm a response has been received.

Is there a warning that the battery is low?

The keypad contains a feature to alert when the battery is low. After a vote, the keypad will blink the red LED four times before turning off. This occurs on each vote until the battery is replaced. The battery should be replaced at earliest convenience to ensure operation continues.

Installation

What are the system requirements for IML ViewPoint?

Windows 7 (with Service Pack 1 or later, 32 bit and 64 bit)

The Software is an add-in for the following Microsoft Office programs:
   · Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 (with Service Pack 2 or later, 32 bit only)
   · Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 (with Service Pack 1 or later, 32 bit only)

Please ensure that your system meets the minimum requirements for these programs as directed by Microsoft. The following freely available products are also required:
   · Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
   · Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile
   · Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office 2010

You will be redirected to install these product from Microsoft if we detect they are required during install.
For integrated reporting Microsoft Excel 2007 or 2010 is also required.

I wish to install IML ViewPoint software but the installation seems not to work.

When you choose to download the software from this website your internet browser may prompt you to 'run' or 'save' the installation. We recommend that you choose to save the installation file locally as many virus scanners will prevent an installation from working if you choose the 'run' option.

What permissions do I need to use IML ViewPoint on my PC?

You will not need any specific permissions to use the IML ViewPoint Express software.

What permissions do I need to install IML ViewPoint?

IML ViewPoint (like most software) will require Administrator permissions to run the installation. If you are a corporate user and are having problems with the installation, you should check with your IT department that you have the relevant permissions.

I have IML ViewPoint Express, how do I update to the latest version?

IML recommends uninstalling any existing version of IML ViewPoint Express before installing the latest version from the download page of this website.

I cannot select my country of residence from the drop-down list when I go to the Purchase page. How can I buy an IML Click system with IML ViewPoint?

We would be happy to take your order via any one of our regional offices. You can send us an e-mail , telephone us, or submit an online request.

What happens after I have placed my order?

After placing your order, you will be contacted by an IML representative who will process your order and send you an invoice. After payment is received, IML will dispatch your order to the specified delivery address via the nominated shipping method and confirm to you that it has been dispatched.

Making a Payment

How do I make a payment for my order?

An invoice will be issued by your closest delivery office which will include details of where and how to make payment via bank transfer. Some IML offices may be able to take a credit card payment should you require a quick delivery of your order.

Is my order subject to tax?

VVAT, GST or Sales Tax is applied depending on your location and in accordance with the applicable local, national and regional tax laws.

If you are based in the European Union (excluding Germany and the UK) then you can advise us of your VAT Number which will enable us to exclude VAT from your order. You will need to ensure you are exempt from VAT for purchases made in the EU before you fill in your VAT number. If you do not advise us of your VAT number, you will be charged VAT at the German standard prevailing rate. UK-based customers will be charged UK VAT at the standard prevailing rate.

If you are exempt from paying VAT, GST or sales tax or you have special tax status, please contact us to enable us to process your order.

Delivery

What are the delivery charges for orders?

Delivery charges are based on your shipping address and the delivery service you select. You can elect to either include or exclude the carrier's insurance cover for your delivery. The insurance cover provided by the carrier covers the full value of the goods. If you elect not to take carrier insurance, your order is not protected while in transit.

If I order from a country where there is no local IML Office, do I have to pay import charges for my order?

For shipments to non-EU European countries, Canada and New Zealand, delivery is offered on a 'Delivery Duty Unpaid' basis (DDU). This means that you are responsible for any applicable import duties and taxes. Additional charges for customs clearance must be paid by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they might be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country, contact your local customs office for further information. Please be aware that cross-border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities and could result in a delay in delivery.

Returns & Refunds

What is the Return Policy?

IML is committed to providing its customers with the best quality product and service. If you are not satisfied with your IML Click System and wish to return it, we will be glad to provide you with a refund or replacement product in accordance with our Terms and Conditions:

The Purchaser has the right to return the Hardware to the Seller within 7 working days of delivery for any reason (which the Purchaser shall specify to the Seller) for a full refund or replacement provided that the Hardware is returned in the same condition in which it is delivered.

Products showing signs of wear, alterations, or damage by the customer will not be accepted.

Shipping charges on returned products are not refundable, unless the item was defective or the return is due to an order error by IML.

Please allow 14 business days for IML to receive and process refunds and 2-3 weeks for exchanges to be sent.

If you do wish to return your order to IML, please contact us via Support Form.

Please include your order number

You will be advised to send your order via a pre-paid, insured and traceable carrier of your choice to the IML office from which it was dispatched. This information can be found on your delivery note, or can be advised when you contact us to arrange the return.

Can I cancel my order?

If you have placed your order and we have not yet fully processed it please contact us to cancel your order and receive a full refund. If your order has already been dispatched, you may return it according to the terms of our Returns Policy.
